INSTITUTIONAL SUPPORT AND PUBLIC POLICY
Advising national and local authorities to help them identify their needs and assist them in drawing up policy and regulatory documents.
The energy transition cannot come about and the fight against poverty cannot be won simply by building up individual initiatives, however successful they may be. A favourable institutional and policy framework is needed to ensure that these initiatives can grow and be duplicated. This could be achieved by adopting measures designed to lift any regulatory constraints and steer financial flows, whether public or private, local or national, in directions compatible with the Sustainable Development Goals.
To this end, Geres offers its technical assistance to national and local authorities, supporting them in identifying their needs or helping to prepare policy and regulatory documents. In addition, we also provide support to civil society organizations and local authorities to help them build up dialogue with national and international bodies, so that they can undertake their own advocacy, rooted in the reality of their local territories.
